Day 1: Rome airport – Rome
Arrival in Rome. Transfer to the Hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Rome
Guided city tour, including entrance to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel; visit to St. Peter’s Square and Basilica, the amazing Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Optional walking tour: the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and other sites of medieval Rome. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Rome – Orvieto Assisi
Stop in Orvieto, visit Piazza del Duomo and the fabulous gothic Cathedral with San Brizio Chapel. Taste local pastries in a historic pasticceria (bakery), before continuing to Assisi for your overnight stay. Assisi guided walking tour: St. Clare’s Church and St. Franci’s Basilica. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Assisi – Florence – Padua
Florence: “Cradle of the Renaissance”. Walking guided tour: the Academy Fine Arts, the cathedral, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistry’s heavy bronze “Gate of Paradise,” Signoria Square and Ponte Vecchio. Transfer to Padua in your Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Padua – Venice
A short drive brings you to Venice. Reach the core of the city by private boat. Walking guided tour: St. Mark’s Square and the byzantine Basilica, lavish Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. Watch also a skilled Glassblower fashion delicate objects in an age-old traditional manner. Optional cruise to the charming island of Burano. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Padua – Verona – Milan
Visit to Verona: take pictures of Juliet’s balcony and visit the Arena, an incredibly well-preserved pink marble Roman amphitheater. Transfer to Milan: visit to the Museum of La Scala Opera House and take a walk to the Galleria and the magnificent gothic Duomo. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Milan – Lake Como
Lake Como: one of Europe’s most beautiful lakes with the many villas that line the lakeshore. Mini cruise to Bellagio. Evening back in Milan with a special farewell risotto dinner with wine at restaurant. Overnight stay.
Day 8: Milan – Milan airport
Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
